Issue #4 Possibly Delayed And Sneak Peek At Leo Statue
Posted Wednesday, June 26, 2002, 3:07 PM CDT by Azure Turtle
Dan Berger at the Official TMNT Website has reported that the new comic book should be in stores today; however, there have been problems with printing. The comic might be delayed for a week.
More news has been released about the upcoming limited edition TMNT statues. All statues will be done by Playmates Toys. They will be able to connect to one another, forming a diorama. The first statue is going to be of Leonardo, and it will be released during the San Diego Comic Convention later this year. The price is estimated to be between $100 to $150. For more details, check out the TMNT Fan Forum. And to see pictures of what the Leo statue will look like, click here.

Posted Sunday, June 23, 2002, 3:06 PM CDT by Azure Turtle
In the latest TMNT Newsletter, Dan Berger announced that several companies have already lined up to produce new TMNT merchandise for late 2003. There are still no new details about the upcoming videogames. Dan also stated that the cartoon is making excellent progress. The plot synopses and the cast of characters has been determined. Several of the characters that are guaranteed to be present are Master Splinter, Casey Jones, April, The Foot, The Shredder, Baxter Stockman, and of course, the four original TMNT. Dan hinted that there will be surprise appearances from other characters in the TMNT universe. The animation studio that will be working on the new cartoon has previously worked on Men In Black and Jackie Chan Adventures. Remember to mark your calendars, turtle fans. 2003 is gonna be a big year!

Posted Saturday, June 15, 2002, 11:42 PM CDT by Shredder
At last, I added two new stories to our Fanfics section. Check out the latest Scott Oliverson fanfic, "The Haunted Mansion," in which TMNT characters Shredder, Krang, and Baxter join their fellow Syndicate members Valmont and Black Tiger of the Jackie Chan Adventure series to experience a night of horror in a mysterious haunted house! Also, read "Sister, Where Forth Art Thou," a powerful story by Streetwyse in which Michaelangelo fondly recalls his little sister on the fifth anniversary of her disappearance. While you're there, take a look at our other fanfics, too!

Mikey, the webmaster of MIKEYSTMNT.COM, has conducted an e-mail interview with TMNT co-creator, Peter Laird. Mr. Laird addressed the new cartoon, videogames, and statues. Concerning the cartoon, Mr. Laird stated that several stories will follow the comics while a few others will be completely new. He also mentioned that the series will be more dramatic than the original cartoon, but it will still contain plenty of humor. For the videogames, Mr. Laird doesn't really know who's going to develop them, but he does comment on his hopes for the new games. Mr. Laird also confirms that Playmates will be making the limited edition TMNT statues. For all the juicy details, make sure to read the full interview.

Fourth TMNT Movie Is Making Progress
Posted Tuesday, June 4, 2002, 2:31 AM CDT by Azure Turtle
Toon Zone reports that John Woo recently did an interview with SciFi.com, and he dropped a few clues about the status of the new TMNT movie. John Woo (famous for directing such films as Face Off and Mission: Impossible II) has confirmed that he will be producing the fourth TMNT movie, and his partner, Terence Chang, will be the co-producer. Mr. Woo stated that they are "starting with a story," but it is unclear whether the story is finished or still being written. The upcoming film will be done in CGI animation, unlike the original live action movies. Toon Zone also reports that John Woo is interested in making a TV series based on the movie.
