Videogames And Statues?
Posted Tuesday, May 28, 2002, 9:32 PM CDT by Azure Turtle
Dan Berger reported in the latest TMNT newsletter that Mirage C.E.O., Gary Richardson, attended the Electronic Entertainment Expo (better known as E3). Mr. Richardson has returned with some very promising news regarding TMNT videogames. A new videogame will undergo development sometime between June 10-14, but the software company creating it or the system that the game will be on has yet to be announced. Mr. Berger also reported that a Gameboy game is a possiblity.
Mirage is considering the creation of limited edition TMNT statues. If this project gets off the ground, expect the statues to be modeled after the Turtles' poses in page one of Volume 1, Issue 1 of the original comic series. These statues will go for $99.00, and they will be released one at a time, covering the span of a whole year.

TMNT #1 Makes Top Ten List
Posted Thursday, May 23, 2002, 4:16 AM CDT by Azure Turtle
The most recent issue of Wizard magazine paid tribute to many 80's franchises that are making a comeback. Of course, the Ninja Turtles were included. There was a small article that reported on many TMNT projects currently in progress: the live action mini-series by Hallmark, a new videogame, movie, toyline, and the cartoon show. Wizard also reported that issue #1 of the new TMNT comic book series is currently number five on the top ten list of hottest selling back issues. The price is now estimated to be $6.00 as opposed to the comic's original price of $2.95. Peter Laird announced (in the letters section of issue #2) that issue #1 is officially sold out. If you still haven't purchased your own copy, make sure to pick one up soon before it's too late!

If you haven't heard already, 4Kids Entertainment has recently agreed to produce twenty-six episodes of a new TMNT animated series that will air on the Fox network. 4Kids Entertainment, famous for such shows as Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh!, will be bringing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles back to their "comic book roots." The Official TMNT Website has posted the full press release, which has many details on the partnership between Mirage Studios and 4Kids Entertainment. Also, Official TMNT "Web Dude," Dan Berger, made a few comments after the press release regarding the type of animation that's going to be used, new toys from Playmates, a new slogan for the TMNT, and the possiblity of new videogames.
Toon Zone has reported that the new Saturday morning block of cartoons on Fox will be called "FOX BOX." It will start airing September 14, 2002, with the TMNT joining the lineup early 2003 at the ten o' clock spot. Make sure to check out the FOX BOX Saturday morning lineup. It looks like 2003 is going to be a big year for the Ninja Turtles!

Blast From The Past Updated!
Posted Thursday, May 16, 2002, 5:16 AM CDT by Azure Turtle
Hi everyone! If you don't know me, I'm Azure Turtle, a mango lovin' mutant. As you can see, I've recently joined the ranks of the Foot Clan, and I now work for Krang and Shredder. Thanks to the two of them for the warm welcome and for allowing me to bring you the latest on our beloved TMNT! Now for the scoop:
TMNT co-creator, Peter Laird, has recently updated his Blast From The Past webpage. The latest Blast From The Past features a set of TMNT sculptures created by Will Vinton, famous for making the California Raisins claymation comercials. Vinton was chosen to do a claymation comercial for a TMNT snackfood, called "Cowabunga Crunchies." The sculptures were based off of the claymation models used for that comercial. Check out Blast From The Past #58 for a picture of the sculptures and the full article.

We apologize for the recent lack of updates on the site. Krang and I have the same ISP, and our area is having problems with unreliable internet connections. When this gets resolved, we will have a new poll, Krang will update the forums, and I will upload a new fanfic by Scott Oliverson. Keep checking back for the latest at the Technodrome!
